Top tips with Gemma Collins Photography

Gemma from Gemma Collins Photography knows your wedding day will be one of the most important days of your life and knows it truly is a honour to be chosen to capture so many special moments with her wedding couples.

From the detailed shots of all your little finishing touches, the ceremony, traditional family shots and natural images of all the guests enjoying themselves as they celebrate with you, Gemma will be right there with you.

Gemma will be exhibiting at the Chester Wedding Fair which has been moved to 9th August but in the meantime we asked Gemma about her style of photography and top tips for couples planning their wedding day during lockdown.

What is your style of photographer?

I have a natural, documentary style. I will be there to capture your day as it happens.

Do you prefer black or white?
I love both colour and black and white, you will get a great selection of both in your images.

What is your favourite wedding venue to photograph?

I couldn’t pick a favourite venue. We have some great ones in Cheshire and every wedding I have shot has been amazing. I also cover destination weddings!

Do you prefer inside or outside wedding photos?

You can get a great selection of both inside and outside shots on your day, I think its important to show off your venue and it gives you a great variety to your images.

On average how long does the editing take?

Editing takes no longer than 6-8 weeks.

What are you missing the most about the lockdown?

Lockdown really has me missing my friends and family and I can’t wait until I can give everyone a big hug! I’m also missing my weddings as they have nearly all moved to next year.

What is the best meal you have ever had covering a wedding? Or do you take your own food?

I never expect a meal and would always take something with me, I have been very lucky to have been offered a meal most places I shoot and it has all been delicious, I’m especially fond of sticky toffee pudding!

How many weddings have been moved during lockdown and have they managed to rebook next year?

Nearly all of my weddings have moved to next year, we have been so lucky with dates and have managed to rebook everyone smoothly, which I’m very grateful for! There are just 2 remaining which we are holding out hope to still go ahead, if not this again will be moved to next year.

Have you got a message for couples who are trying to plan their weddings at the moment?
The most important message for couples planning a wedding now is to enjoy it! Your day is going to be amazing and will be here quicker than you think so just take your time and enjoy the process. With that said though, due to the amount of weddings suppliers have added into their diaries from this year, it is extremely important to book your suppliers as quickly as possible, especially photographers and venues, once your date goes that’s it. If you see someone you like then get in touch and don’t delay! Your date can be secured with me for just a £150 deposit.
